Here's what we've been up to.

As we reflect on the first five months of 2026, we're excited to share the incredible impact the SHF community has made together — with purpose, with passion, and with all our hearts.

The Showing Hearts community gathered together

From young entrepreneurs chasing their first big idea, to mothers learning to pour into themselves before pouring into everyone else — Showing Hearts spent the start of this year meeting our Queens neighbors right where they are. Five flagship programs, five months, one community.

Together, these programs have touched the lives of over 500 families. We also had the privilege of joining our neighbors in Elmont at We Love Our Park Day in Valley Stream State Park — connecting with and serving the vibrant 77,000+ residents of the Elmont and Valley Stream area.

Pouring Into the Mothers, While Serving the Community

Saturday, May 30 · 10:00 AM — 3:00 PM

A free community day for mothers, women, families and neighbors — featuring outreach & giveaways, clothing & resource distribution, self-care, and the Beyond Your Scars mobile health unit.

Heart for the Community: Beautification Project '26

Friday, June 5 · 10:00 AM — 2:00 PM

Let's come together to beautify one of NYC's parks — painting benches, planting flowers, and tree-scaping. In partnership with Sen. Comrie, AM Hyndman, AM Vanel and Dep. Speaker Williams.

Community Closet.

Five hours. 180+ neighbors. One very full room of generosity.

Our team partnered with Our House Sports to welcome every visitor and help families pick out what they needed. From clothing and toys to toiletries and household goods — the energy was vibrant and purposeful as neighbors selected what they needed most.

A highlight of the day was the engaging story time hosted by our friends at Qwiky Kidz — bringing smiles and laughter to attendees of all ages.
